BIG GAY OUR PRIDE CABARET
Our Pride's Big Gay Cabaret offers a platform for theatre lovers and makers to come together and celebrate local performance art full of big, queer, lovely craic in a space for expression, cultural inclusion and affirmation! 

Returning in July 2026 after sell out shows in 2024, 2025 and a Winter Seasonal Special in January 2026 with belly laughs and boisterous energy. Geet Northern x Sister Shack are honoured to bring a show all about intersectionality and equity for a safe community space to really enjoy YOUR pride at OUR PRIDE at a time where we need it most!

Expect burlesque, comedy sketches, stand up and so much more to make you woop, cheer and chuckle the night away. 
As always, it's full of heart, joy, resilience and resistance and we are so proud to bring the craic!

    Rhian Jade is a trans theatre maker and creator of Geet Northern Theatre. They stage everything like comedy, sketches, poetry and full length plays. Always sifting through the shit to bring love joy and wit. They cant wait to bring you some of the best Northern Queer craic for the sell out cabaret they are proud to produce!

    Ebony Silk is a dazzling and professional performer boasting over 15yrs of experience.Formerly a resident member of Bordello Bordello, The Headline Honeys Burlesque Troupe and currently part of The House of Trixie Blue, she has toured across the UK as part of a theatre cast and independent productions, and has headlined burlesque festivals internationally, earning rave reviews.

    With legs for days, a playful smile, and captivating presence, she will transport your audience to a delightful realm of glamour and excitement. Her performances span from classic showgirl striptease featuring ostrich feathers and crystals to lively acts with a tropical twist, inspired by her Jamaican heritage, all infused with high-energy and cheeky flair.

    Harrison Rowley-Lynn (She/her) is a Performer, Writer and Assistant Producer of Geet Northen Show. A show that flaunts queer comedy for an evening of community joy and togetherness. As well as Big Gay Cabaret, Free As An Orange, Newcastle Fringe 2025. Night Classes by Lisette Auton and Becci Sharrock at Unfolding Theatre, and Soap Box Racer by Ben Schwarz at Alphabetti Theatre. She is excited to bring back some classic Northern characters for the 2026 cabaret.

    Meena Al-Nawrasy is a Kurdish actor born and raised in Newcastle. She is a graduate of Newcastle Theatre Royal's Project A with her final production being Julia Darling's musical 'A Manifesto For a New City'. Her recent work includes; Peter Pan and Wendy (Gala Durham), Neon Brown (Alphabetti Theatre), Lasses Kicking Ass and Feeling Gassed (Alphabetti Theatre).

    As a core creator at Geet Northern Theatre, she is so excited to be back at Big Gay Cabaret.

    Bipty P is Newcastle's self proclaimed Helicopter Queen, serving up high energy chaotic comedy whilst shes spinning so fast they'll leave you in a hurry, or a curry. She blends pop parody with absurd humour and absolutely no mild flavours. on goes here.

    Often found lurking in graveyards and haunted theatres, The Hellpoet is the queer, trans, British-Bengali nightmare that the government warned you about. With cutting humour, macabre sensibilities, and the delivery of a fervent preacher, his work will either comfort you, or delight in making you uncomfortable.

    His Jhalak Prize-nominated debut chapbook, 'Alternative Sermons', is available now, from Written Off Publishing.

    Charlene is an Australian ASMR artist who is huge on the internet. Charlene by Charlene, builds intimate soundscapes using synthetic hair, sequined-body rubbing, and slow, whispered reflections on life.

    With just four microphones and flattering lighting, she stimulates the audience through questions like: “If you looked in the mirror and your reflection spoke back with kind and gentle words, would you tell anyone?” Charlene never answers directly; instead, she responds with another question, deepening the deep mystery of life.

    Whispers “Can I touch you? Can I touch you?”

  • maya torres

    Maya Torres is a performer and creative from Newcastle. On Screen she can be seen as Sanam in BAFTA winning short How To Be A Person (Channel 4) and as Mindy Singh in BAFTA nominated feature Blue Jean (BBC and BFI) among other short form and commercial work.

    Maya also has experience in theatre having performed with Northern Stage, Live Theatre, Alphabetti Theatre, Open Clasp and Laurels. Maya also lead the Girls Theys and Slays choir.

    Samara is a creative DJ born and bred in Newcastle. When on the decks, she enjoys playing rap, garage baselines, and eclectic house beats with some soft R&B tones.

    Her energy is infectious, and she loves a good dance. Her mix of music tastes will have you feeling your best self on the dance floor.

    Born in the south but at home in the North, DJ Awkward Black Girl loves to play music and get people dancing with a mix of Rock, RnB, Soul, Funk, Garage, Hip Hop, Disco, Dance, and much more. Expect a nostalgic party vibe with a contemporary twist. She also founded Bend&Shake: a queer party in Newcastle upon Tyne run by women & non-binary people of colour to provide a safer space for women, trans people, QTIPOC & asylum seekers.
