TopSoil
TopSoil is a queer gardening club building a community resource for growing ideas around sustainability, visibility and queer ecologies. It is rooted in the idea that growing a garden is a radical act of resistance. This week their allotments were broken into.... Over £1000 worth of tools was taken that have been carefully collected over the years to allow them to build and have an amazing community. The shed was also broken in again the next day!
We are asking for any gardening tools that you may not use anymore, to be donated at Our Pride Social on the 5th of July, at The Old Coal Yard. These will be passed on to TopSoil.
Items needed are:
Secateurs, tree pruning tools, wheelbarrows , gloves, basic DIY tools like snips and wire, shovels, trowels, spades and so on.
You can donate at our event on the 5th of July.

About TopSoil and the allotment
These sessions intend to grow a garden and a community through a programme of co-created activity. TopSoil invites local queer practitioners who will share their work and skills with the group. TopSoil has demonstrated how to grow your own food, as well as shared knowledge around sustainability, queer ecology, natural dyes and how growing and gardening is a radical act of resistance.
The programme is decided upon by the group, and sessions are free to attend.
